It has been a long week. I have gotten spoiled the last couple of weeks with deer hunting (yes, I am a brutal beast killer) and the Thanksgiving holiday. I haven't worked a full week for nearly a month! I know! Shut up and get on with it! Okay! Okay! So, here it goes again...
Several thoughts came to mind this morning (during long ride to work). This whole obscenely over published, over thought, and over analyzed issue concerning the worlds environment. Some of the scientists and politicians have got people so scared about their effects on the environment, that they are afraid to break wind because of the methane they release with each gaseous micro burst. I read an article by a scientist that was part of a study that won a Noble Peace Prize, either this year, or recently. I have got to find that article and put a link on here. It was SO eye opening! It spelled things out so clearly. Even if everyone went to driving electric cars, it would not even make a nick in the effect of environmental air quality! Some of these psychotic people have us believing that we should kill all the cows because the methane gas they release when they belch or fart, is harming our environment! Come, on!!! According to Heather Mills, we should all start milking rats if we want to drink milk! What??!!!! Yuck! You go milk a rat, you psychotic cow! Ggrrrr!!! Crazy people are falling out of the sky! Or how about I'll buy your carbon points so I can fly around in my huge, jet fuel burning private jet, while you ride your bike, twelve miles, one way, up hill, to pick up groceries for your family of 5 (oh, wait! that is too many for any environmentally conscious person) family of 3.
What it boils down to is contradictions, and misinformation, by the misinformed! Yes! We do have a responsibility to use less, recycle what we can, and be mindful of how we impact our children's future world. The thing is, is that a lot of the products that we are using, and information we are being fed, is wrong, even more harmful to the environment, and very misleading and confusing to everyone. What is the solution? I am not sure because you will never get all scientists to agree on the information that is available, let alone make a recommendation on what the people of the world can do to be citizens for our environment.
I had an environmental science class in college. It was very eye opening in some respects but also very one sided. I came out of that class feeling like there was no hope for our planet and that we were all gonna burn up anyway, so why not keep all your lights on, let your faucet run, and drive the biggest Hummer you could find. I did a lot of thinking, and analysing of my own. What I decided was we are not in control of this earth. We could all die tomorrow and in my mind there is only one who is in actual control. I decided to leave it in his hands and live out my life at his will. That was my solution to this dilemma. I found that it helps me sleep and gives me peace about it all. Problem solved.
Some have heard about the oil pipe line that exploded and burned in my neck of the woods the other day. Two men were lost during this accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to their families, especially during this time of year. One of the reasons I am bringing it up is because of how it made the world news and how it is like a neon sign to all terrorists in the world. "Come to northern Minnesota and blow up oil pipelines" (in neon flashing lights!). Let's see what happens next? They published maps of the pipelines and the oil refineries in the US. That should help al qaeda out! Now they know where their going. Duh...
Have an awesome weekend! Hopefully I will find my way to the store tomorrow before the snow storm hits!
